The Renewed Hope Ambassadors, alongside members of the Presidential Communications Team, have inspected key federal and state government projects in Imo State as part of the ongoing National Media Tour across the South-East.
The initiative, led by the Renewed Hope Ambassadors in collaboration with the Presidential Media Team, is designed to provide Nigerians with firsthand information on major infrastructure projects while promoting transparency, accountability and public awareness of government development efforts.
The delegation, which included over 40 senior journalists, toured several completed and ongoing projects, including the 56-kilometre Okigwe–Owerri Road, the 36-kilometre Owerri–Obowo–Umuahia Road and the ongoing upgrade of the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport runway.
The team also visited the upgraded Alvan Ikoku Federal University of Education, formerly Alvan Ikoku College of Education, and the Federal University Teaching Hospital, Owerri, following the upgrade of the Federal Medical Centre.
Speaking during the inspection, Imo State Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation and Strategy, Declan Emelumba, described the projects as products of the strong partnership between the Federal Government and the Imo State Government.
He said the expansion of the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport would transform the facility into a major logistics and export hub, boosting agricultural exports, commerce and investment across the South-East.
Emelumba added that the fiscal gains arising from the Federal Government’s economic reforms had enabled the Imo State Government to accelerate infrastructure development while complementing federal interventions in transportation, healthcare and education.
Also speaking, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Special Duties, Tunde Rahman, said the projects demonstrated the benefits of effective collaboration between the Federal Government and state governments.
He commended Governor Hope Uzodimma for implementing projects that align with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, particularly in education, healthcare and infrastructure.
Members of the media delegation praised the pace and quality of the projects, describing them as visible evidence of the impact of collaborative governance on development in Imo State.
