Former National Vice Chairman (North-West) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Salihu Lukman, has resigned from the African Democratic Congress (ADC), citing irreconcilable differences and attributing his decision to the leadership style of former Kaduna State Governor, Nasir El-Rufai.

Lukman said his decision followed concerns over the direction of the party and internal disagreements regarding its leadership and operations.

He alleged that El-Rufai’s approach to managing party affairs contributed significantly to his decision to leave the ADC.

The former APC chieftain stated that political parties must uphold internal democracy, transparency and collective leadership to remain credible and effective.

His resignation is expected to generate fresh political discussions as parties continue to reposition ahead of the 2027 general elections.
