Governors Celebrate Aiyedatiwa’s Victory in Ondo Gubernatorial Election

Governors across Nigeria have congratulated Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on his resounding victory in the recently concluded Ondo State governorship election. Aiyedatiwa, the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), secured 366,781 votes, defeating Agboola Ajayi of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who polled 117,845 votes.

Sanwo-Olu: “A Testament to Strong Leadership”

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu expressed gratitude to the people of Ondo State for their support of Aiyedatiwa and the APC.

“Congratulations to Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa on his victory,” Sanwo-Olu posted on X (formerly Twitter). He also acknowledged the foundation laid by the late Governor Rotimi Akeredolu, attributing the campaign’s success to the leadership of President Bola Tinubu and the efforts of the APC campaign council.

Oyebanji: “An Endorsement of Good Governance”

Ekiti State Governor Biodun Oyebanji described the victory as an endorsement of APC-led governance. He noted that the election outcome reflected confidence in President Tinubu’s leadership and urged Aiyedatiwa to deliver even more for the people of Ondo.

“The victory places a fresh challenge on the Ondo governor to build on the achievements of the APC administration,” Oyebanji said, commending APC National Chairman Abdullahi Ganduje and other stakeholders for their contributions to the win.

Ododo: “The Result of Hard Work and Strategy”

Kogi State Governor Usman Ododo praised the APC leadership for strategic planning and hard work, which ensured the party retained power in Ondo.

“We have known Governor Aiyedatiwa to be a tested and trusted leader who will continue the development trajectory in the state,” Ododo said, via a statement from his media aide, Ismaila Isah. He expressed confidence in Aiyedatiwa’s ability to enhance infrastructure, social welfare, and security.

Okpebholo: “A Good Omen for Collaboration”

Edo State Governor Monday Okpebholo described Aiyedatiwa’s re-election as a “good omen,” expressing optimism about future collaborations between Edo and Ondo States.

“I congratulate my friend and brother, Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for emerging victorious,” Okpebholo said in a statement by his spokesman, Fred Itua. “This victory is a testament to his leadership, and I am confident it will bring peace and prosperity to Ondo.”

A Unified Celebration

The governors’ messages reflect a collective optimism for the continued progress of Ondo State under Aiyedatiwa’s leadership. With expectations high, Aiyedatiwa has pledged to build on existing developments and deliver on the mandate entrusted to him by the people of Ondo.
