The clarification followed widespread speculation on social media alleging that the minister had stepped down from his position.

To further dispel the rumours, the minister visited President Bola Ahmed Tinubu at the Presidential Villa in Abuja, reaffirming his commitment to his responsibilities and the administration’s security agenda.

The minister maintained that he remains fully focused on strengthening Nigeria’s defence architecture and supporting ongoing efforts to tackle the country’s security challenges.

He urged the public to disregard the false reports and advised media organisations and social media users to verify information through official channels before publication.
