
On the occasion of his third anniversary as the Olu of Warri, His Majesty Ogiame Atuwatse III, CFR, delivered a profound address reflecting on the progress and values of the Warri Kingdom.
In his address, His Majesty expressed gratitude for the support and unity of the Ìtsẹ̀kírì people over the past three years. He emphasized the kingdom’s commitment to peace, equality, and respect, highlighting the removal of derogatory terms from their lexicon and the affirmation of universal human dignity. “We are all created equal by God,” he asserted, reinforcing the kingdom’s dedication to treating every individual with respect.
The Olu acknowledged the diversity within the kingdom, embracing all its members regardless of their traits or behavior, and called for a collective focus on positive change. He stressed the importance of unity and humility, cautioning against destructive pride and divisiveness.
Addressing the significance of Aghofen, the royal palace, His Majesty reaffirmed it as a symbol of unity and justice for all Itsekiri. He encouraged the community to embrace new values of wisdom, creativity, and productivity, aiming for a future of growth and prosperity.
