Vice President Kashim Shettima on Monday represented Nigeria at the 2025 African Chiefs of Defence Staff Summit, reaffirming the nation’s commitment to regional peace and security.

The summit, which brought together top defence leaders and policymakers across the continent, focused on strengthening multilateral cooperation in tackling terrorism, insurgency, and emerging security threats facing Africa.

VP Shettima, in his remarks, emphasized the importance of collective action among African nations, noting that sustainable peace can only be achieved through stronger collaboration in intelligence sharing, joint operations, and defence capacity building.

Nigeria’s participation in the summit underlines the Tinubu administration’s foreign policy priorities, particularly in promoting security, stability, and economic integration across Africa.
