
The Katsina State Government has strengthened its security infrastructure with the acquisition of eight brand new Armored Personnel Carrier vehicles to enhance operational capacity and improve mobility in the most vulnerable communities. Acting Governor Faruk Lawal Jobe announced the development after a security meeting and described the recent attack in Gidan Mantau, Karfi Ward of Malumfashi Local Government Area as sad and unfortunate. He however reassured residents that the administration is fully committed to protecting lives and property.
The Acting Governor explained that government has continued to invest in security infrastructure, personnel training and community based initiatives such as the Community Watch and Vigilante programs. He noted that these efforts have already secured four of the state’s eight frontline local government areas which are Jibia, Batsari, Safana and Dan Musa. He further revealed that 76 kidnapped victims were rescued in addition to others who managed to escape during abduction attempts.
Jobe emphasized that the Katsina State Government is working closely with the Federal Government to consolidate gains in the fight against insecurity. He urged citizens to remain confident in government’s efforts while stressing that security is a collective responsibility. Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Nasiru Muazu Danmusa, also briefed journalists, sympathizing with victims of attacks and praising the coordinated response of security agencies. He assured that all security interventions will be managed with transparency.
