The Honourable Minister of Finance and Coordinating Minister of the Economy, Mr. Wale Edun, was on Wednesday represented by Mrs. Sanyade Okoli, Special Adviser to the President on Finance and Economy, at a high-level meeting with the Polish Ambassador to Nigeria, Michał Cygan, and a delegation from Poland’s Export Credit Agency (KUKE). The talks focused on expanding bilateral cooperation in trade, finance, and infrastructure.

Mrs. Okoli reaffirmed Nigeria’s commitment to its reform agenda anchored on four key pillars: macroeconomic stability, stronger governance, modern infrastructure, and improved access to finance for businesses, particularly MSMEs. She stressed that agriculture, mining, oil and gas, manufacturing, and the digital and creative economy remain central to Nigeria’s diversification and growth strategy.

Ambassador Cygan noted Poland’s proven expertise in infrastructure development and public-private partnerships, while KUKE representatives presented financing instruments that include long-term guarantees of up to 18 years for infrastructure and 22 years for renewable energy. Both sides expressed readiness to leverage Nigeria’s reforms and Poland’s financial and technical strengths to accelerate inclusive growth and deepen bilateral relations.
