
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has extended his heartfelt condolences to the families of victims, the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS), United Capital, and United Bank for Africa (UBA) Plc following Tuesday’s fire outbreak at Afriland Towers on Broad Street, Lagos Island.
In a statement, the President expressed sympathy to the management and staff of Afriland Properties Limited, FIRS, United Capital, UBA, and especially those who lost loved ones in the fire, as well as the injured who are currently receiving medical treatment.
President Tinubu commended the emergency responders, including the Federal Fire Service, first aiders, medical personnel, and members of the public, for their swift action and dedication during the evacuation. He noted their deep sense of responsibility in handling the emergency.
The President urged increased caution, training, and vigilance to prevent such incidents in the future. He prayed that Almighty God receives the souls of the departed and grants a speedy recovery to those injured.
