Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has launched a national vaccination campaign targeting over 106 million children to protect them from measles, rubella, and other preventable diseases. The initiative, which also includes polio and HPV vaccines, is the largest immunization effort ever undertaken in Africa.
Senator Tinubu called on parents to ensure their children are vaccinated and urged community and religious leaders to promote trust in vaccines as safe and effective.
Supported by global and local partners, the campaign aligns with Nigeria’s health reform goals and the Immunization Agenda 2030, aiming to reduce child mortality and strengthen the nation’s healthcare system.
