The Vice President, Senator Kashim Shettima, has assured the families of the abducted schoolgirls in Kebbi State, as well as the families of the late Brigadier-General Musa Uba and the late Vice Principal of the affected school, that the federal government is deeply troubled by these tragic events.

Speaking on Wednesday on the directive of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the Vice President stated that the government will deploy all available instruments of the state to rescue the kidnapped schoolchildren and ensure that the perpetrators, including the killers of the military officer and the vice principal, are brought to justice.

Describing the abduction as an assault on the collective conscience of Nigerians, Senator Shettima met with state officials, parents, and guardians of the schoolgirls to provide reassurance. President Tinubu had earlier directed the Vice President to visit Kebbi to sympathize with the state government and offer assurances of swift action for the girls’ safe return.
