JAMB Releases Registration Guidelines For 2026 UTME

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released detailed guidelines for the registration of candidates for the 2026 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The board also highlighted common challenges candidates may face during the process.

The announcement, made via JAMB’s official X handle on Sunday, aims to help prospective candidates prepare for registration.

Candidates are advised to ensure that their personal details, including National Identification Number (NIN), email address, and A-Level results, are accurate before generating a profile code.

Prospective candidates should send their 11-digit NIN to 55019 or 66019 (e.g., NIN 00000011111 to 55019/66019). Once generated, the profile code cannot be changed, and biodata is automatically retrieved from the National Identity Management Commission (NIMC).

After generating the profile code, candidates should visit the nearest JAMB office or any approved CBT centre to complete registration. E-PINs must be purchased only from authorised sources, including banks, online platforms, or vendors at the registration centres.

JAMB warned that candidates must provide accurate information, as mismatched data may lead to complications during registration or later in admissions.

Important Tips for Candidates
Make necessary corrections with NIMC early and ensure the changes are reflected before registration (e.g., Name, Date of Birth, Gender, State of Origin).
