Social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has issued a public apology to prominent human rights lawyer, Femi Falana, SAN, for recent disparaging comments made against him. Speaking before the House of Representatives on Monday, September 30, Otse clarified that he does not believe Falana was involved in the bribery allegations connected to crossdresser Bobrisky, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), and the Nigeria Correctional Service.
During the session, Otse expressed regret for Falana’s name being mentioned in the controversy, stating, “Apparently now, some people are taking advantage of what is going on to target Femi Falana. I’d like to say here and now that I apologize to him. It’s so sad that his name was in that audio; I couldn’t believe it as well. That is the part that irritated me more, which I said I refuse to believe—that he is a party to something like that.”
The apology comes after an audio recording surfaced in which Bobrisky allegedly claimed to have bribed EFCC officials with N15 million to drop charges against him. Falana’s name had reportedly been drawn into the controversy, prompting Otse’s earlier remarks. The influencer’s apology seeks to clear the air and distance the senior lawyer from the ongoing investigation.
