According to TheCable, the assets include hotels, residential buildings, parcels of land, schools and a printing press located across Kebbi State, Kano State and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.
A breakdown of the valuations shows that properties in Kebbi State are estimated to be worth ₦162.19 billion, while those in Kano State are valued at about ₦16.01 billion. The assets traced to the FCT are said to be worth ₦34.69 billion, bringing the total estimated value to approximately ₦212 billion.
Sources familiar with the development said the tracing of the properties is part of ongoing investigations by the anti-graft agency into alleged financial impropriety involving the former minister. The EFCC has yet to issue an official public statement detailing the circumstances surrounding the properties or the status of the investigation.
Malami, who served as Attorney-General and Minister of Justice from 2015 to 2023, has not publicly responded to the report as of the time of filing this story.
