David Beckham has finally spoken out following his son Brooklyn Beckham’s shocking Instagram Stories post in which he accused his parents of trying to ruin his relationship with his wife, Nicola Peltz Beckham.
The football legend addressed the situation on Tuesday, Jan. 20, during an appearance on CNBC’s financial program Squawk Box — just one day after Brooklyn publicly alleged that both David and Victoria Beckham had been undermining his marriage.
While David did not mention Brooklyn or Nicola by name, he made pointed remarks about parenting, social media, and allowing children to learn from their own errors.
“My kids have made mistakes on social media,” David said. “But children are allowed to make mistakes. That is how they learn. That is what I try to teach my kids. You sometimes have to let them make those mistakes as well.”
His comments appeared to be a calm but indirect response to Brooklyn’s emotional post, in which the 26-year-old claimed that his parents had “been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding.”
David’s measured tone contrasted sharply with Brooklyn’s public outburst, signaling a more restrained and reflective approach to the growing family rift.
Sources close to the Beckham family have previously said tensions between Brooklyn and his parents began in 2022, after Victoria Beckham allegedly declined to make Nicola’s wedding dress. The issue has reportedly simmered behind the scenes for years before spilling into the public eye this week.
So far, Victoria Beckham has not commented publicly on Brooklyn’s claims. Nicola Peltz Beckham has also remained silent.
Fans and commentators are now watching closely to see whether the family will attempt a private reconciliation — or if more public statements are yet to come in what is fast becoming one of the most talked-about celebrity family dramas of the year.
