Controversial cross-dresser Idris Olanrewaju Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, has claimed that he paid an upfront sum of N5 million to an unnamed Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) in a bid to secure a Federal Government pardon for money laundering charges brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

The alleged transaction was revealed in an audio recording leaked on Monday, October 7, 2024, by popular social media influencer Martins Otse, also known as VeryDarkMan (VDM). According to VDM, the phone conversation was recorded on May 16, 2024.

In the leaked audio, Bobrisky disclosed that the SAN had requested N10 million for the pardon, but he could not raise the full amount due to his accounts being frozen by the EFCC. “I’m supposed to finish my sentence by July, but if we get the amnesty, I could leave by the first week of next month,” Bobrisky reportedly stated.

He went on to explain, “The SAN asked for N10 million, which I could have transferred, but my account is frozen. My godfather gave me N5 million, and we sent it to the SAN two weeks ago. He has already submitted the pardon request.”

Last week, however, renowned Senior Advocate of Nigeria, Femi Falana, refuted any involvement with Bobrisky. In a report by DAILY POST, Falana clarified that he had never engaged in any dealings with the cross-dresser and stated that Bobrisky had only communicated with his son, musician and activist Folarin Falana, popularly known as Falz.
