Today, three senators have officially defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC), further strengthening the ruling party’s presence in the National Assembly.

The lawmakers who switched allegiance are Sen. Ikra Bilbis, representing Zamfara Central; Sen. Aminu Iya Abbas, representing Adamawa Central; and Sen. Amos Yohanna, representing Adamawa North. Their defection adds to APC’s growing influence ahead of the 2027 general elections and is seen as a significant boost for the party’s legislative strength.

The senators cited alignment with APC’s policies and national development agenda as key reasons for their move, joining other high-profile politicians who have recently crossed over to the ruling party.
