Senate President Godswill Akpabio and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, have defended the performance of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration, criticizing the African Democratic Congress (ADC) and its leadership over recent attacks on the government’s record.
The two leaders spoke during the inauguration of a major interchange linking the Jahi and Gwarinpa districts of Abuja, where they highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects and reforms being implemented under the Tinubu administration.
Representing President Tinubu at the event, Akpabio said the administration remains focused on delivering critical infrastructure, improving public services, and enhancing the welfare of Nigerians through people-oriented projects across the country.
He described the newly commissioned interchange as a significant intervention that will ease traffic congestion, improve connectivity, and support economic activities within the Federal Capital Territory.
Akpabio also commended Wike’s leadership in the FCT, noting that the scale of infrastructure development being witnessed in Abuja reflects the administration’s commitment to transforming the nation’s capital.
For his part, Wike defended the achievements of the Tinubu administration, arguing that ongoing projects and reforms demonstrate the government’s commitment to development and improved service delivery.
The remarks come amid increasing political exchanges between the ruling APC and opposition figures over the performance of the Federal Government ahead of the 2027 general elections.
