Abuja, March 29, 2026 — President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep appreciation to Nigerians for their goodwill messages, prayers, and support as he marked his 74th birthday, reaffirming his administration’s commitment to national development and ongoing reforms.
In a message released on the occasion, the President thanked citizens across the country for their patriotism and solidarity, as well as individuals and groups who took out newspaper spaces and paid for radio and television airtime to celebrate him. He also extended special appreciation to his wife, First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, for her kind words, and to the Vice President, Kashim Shettima, for his tribute.
President Tinubu noted that, in line with his tradition, he chose to mark the birthday quietly, reflecting the current mood of the nation. He acknowledged the challenges faced since the introduction of key reforms but expressed optimism that the sacrifices are beginning to yield positive results, describing them as “a glittering light at the end of the tunnel,” despite temporary setbacks linked to the ongoing Middle East crisis.
He emphasized that the progress recorded so far is a collective achievement, crediting Nigerians, his administration, and the Renewed Hope team for the gains made. As his administration approaches its third anniversary, the President reaffirmed his belief in building a brighter future for the country.
Tinubu assured Nigerians of his government’s determination to tackle prevailing challenges and called for continued public support, urging citizens to remain united in the pursuit of a stronger, more prosperous, and resilient nation.
