President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has dispatched a high-powered federal delegation to Oyo State following the recent abduction of pupils and teachers in parts of the state.

The delegation is led by the Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, alongside the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu. Other senior security and government officials are also part of the team tasked with assessing the situation and coordinating rescue efforts.

According to official sources, the delegation is expected to visit the affected communities in the Oriire Local Government Area, where armed assailants reportedly invaded schools and abducted dozens of pupils and teachers. The visit is aimed at strengthening ongoing security operations and reassuring residents of federal government intervention.

The Presidency says President Tinubu has directed security agencies to intensify search-and-rescue operations and ensure the safe return of all abducted victims. Intelligence and military assets have also been mobilized to track the perpetrators and prevent further attacks.

The incident has triggered renewed concern over school safety and insecurity in parts of the country, with calls for stronger protection of educational institutions and rural communities.

Authorities have assured that updates will be provided as rescue operations progress.
