President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated elder statesman, Alhaji Ashafa Ajibola Erogbogbo, on the occasion of his 100th birthday, describing the milestone as a rare blessing and a reward for a life dedicated to service, discipline and integrity.

In a statement issued on Wednesday, the President praised Erogbogbo for his contributions to national development through his years of service at the Government Printing Press, the Nigeria Customs and Excise, and later at Shell Company Nigeria Limited, where he retired as an aviation supervisor.

Tinubu noted that the centenarian demonstrated professionalism, diligence and commitment to excellence throughout his career, adding that his role as a respected community leader and mentor in Ikorodu, Lagos State, continues to inspire younger generations.

The President also acknowledged that Erogbogbo remains mentally sharp and warm in spirit despite his advanced age. He further highlighted that the elder statesman is the father of Mrs Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NIDCOM).

Tinubu joined the family, friends and associates of the centenarian in celebrating the landmark birthday and expressed anticipation for the release of his autobiography titled “Echoes of Grace: The Journey of a Century,” published in commemoration of the occasion.
