Former D’Tigress head coach and President of the Basketball Coaches Association of Nigeria (BCAN), Scott Nnaji, has been appointed as the Head Coach of Ahmadu Bello University (ABU) basketball team and General Manager of the institution’s proposed Basketball Academy.

The appointment, approved by the Vice-Chancellor of ABU, Prof. Adamu Ahmed, is part of the university’s efforts to strengthen its basketball programme and establish a world-class academy for the development of young talents.

In his new role, Nnaji will oversee the university’s basketball team while leading the establishment and management of the Basketball Academy, which is expected to provide student-athletes with opportunities to combine academic pursuits with elite sports development.

Nnaji, an alumnus of ABU, is one of Nigeria’s most experienced basketball coaches. He previously served as head coach of the senior women’s national basketball team, D’Tigress, and has coached several clubs and national teams across the country.
