Troops of the Joint Task Force (North West), Operation FANSAN YAMMA, have neutralised a terrorist threat and rescued 13 abductees during separate intelligence-led operations in Anka and Kaura Namoda Local Government Areas of Zamfara State.

The military said the operations were carried out following credible intelligence on the movement of armed terrorists planning attacks in parts of the state.

In Anka Local Government Area, troops intercepted the terrorists as they advanced towards Tungan Kudaduku. Following a fierce exchange of gunfire, the terrorists fled, abandoning a makeshift camp where five abductees were rescued unharmed.

In a separate operation at Ungwan Rogo in Kaura Namoda Local Government Area, troops engaged another group of terrorists, forcing them to retreat under sustained military pressure. The operation led to the rescue of eight additional abductees and the recovery of two vehicles.

The military said all 13 rescued victims have been handed over to the appropriate authorities for medical attention and other necessary support.

It reaffirmed its commitment to sustaining offensive operations against terrorists and other criminal elements across the North-West, assuring residents of continued efforts to restore lasting peace and security in the region. Visit www.jocomms.com for more news.
