President Tinubu to Attend G20 Leaders Summit in Brazil

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is set to depart Abuja for Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, on Sunday to participate in the 19th G20 Leaders Summit, scheduled to take place on November 18 and 19.

The summit, hosted by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, will bring together leaders from the world’s largest economies to address pressing global challenges. According to a statement by Bayo Onanuga, the president’s special adviser on information and strategy, this year’s summit will focus on the theme, “Building a Just World and a Sustainable Planet.”

Key topics on the agenda include tackling global poverty, combating hunger, advancing energy transitions, and promoting sustainable development. President Tinubu’s participation underscores Nigeria’s commitment to engaging in global conversations that shape economic and developmental policies.

This marks an important opportunity for Nigeria to advocate for African priorities and strengthen international cooperation in addressing shared challenges.
