The Dangote Group has emphasized Nigeria’s vast non-oil export potential and called for a renewed focus on the sector to drive national economic prosperity. This was conveyed in a statement during the ongoing 2024 Kano International Trade Fair, organized by the Kano Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines, and Agriculture (KACCIMA).
Themed “Non-Oil Export for Economic Prosperity,” the trade fair aligns with Dangote’s commitment to economic diversification. The company’s pavilion has attracted significant interest from customers and stakeholders eager to explore and purchase its diverse range of products.
“Nigeria is a powerhouse for non-oil export, but only if it taps into its numerous resources and potentials. At Dangote, we have demonstrated this with our huge investments in fertilizer, sugar, salt, and cement products spread across several African countries,” the statement read.
Dangote’s pavilion has reportedly seen brisk business activity, with distributors and retailers using the opportunity to stock up on goods ahead of the festive season. Products on display include Dangote Cement, Dangote Sugar, Dangote Salt, and Dangote Fertilizer.
During his visit to the Dangote pavilion, Minister of Defence Badaru Abubakar commended the company for its contributions to Nigeria’s economic development. He emphasized the critical role of public-private partnerships in fostering growth and reiterated the Tinubu administration’s view of the private sector as central to the country’s economic revival.
“The Federal Government remains committed to restoring peace and stability to enhance business activities nationwide,” Abubakar stated, urging Nigerians to continue supporting the government and the nation’s security forces.
KACCIMA President Garba Imam also praised the Dangote Group for its consistent sponsorship of the trade fair, while the chamber’s Director General, Sabiu Yola, highlighted the importance of non-oil exports in advancing Nigeria’s economy. Yola encouraged Nigerians to explore non-oil commodities as viable options for export.
The trade fair, which began on November 23, runs until December 7, 2024, offering businesses a platform to showcase innovations and promote economic diversification.
