The Federal Government has renamed the Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway in honour of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, recognising his administration’s commitment to delivering one of Nigeria’s most ambitious infrastructure projects.
The decision reflects the government’s acknowledgement of President Tinubu’s role in initiating and driving the landmark coastal highway, which is expected to enhance connectivity, facilitate trade and stimulate economic development along Nigeria’s coastline.
The Lagos–Calabar Coastal Highway is designed to improve transportation, boost tourism, create employment opportunities and strengthen economic integration across the coastal states.
Government officials described the project as a transformative infrastructure initiative that aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda and supports long-term national development.
The renaming underscores the significance of the project as a key component of the Federal Government’s efforts to modernise Nigeria’s transport infrastructure and promote sustainable economic growth.
