Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has approved the payment of allowances and stipends to National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members serving in the state.

The approval was contained in a statement by the Commissioner for Information and Culture, Mahmud Muhammad Dantawasa, who said the decision reflects the administration’s commitment to the welfare and wellbeing of corps members contributing to development across the state.

According to the statement, the payment covers corps members from Batch A Stream I and II to Batch C Stream I and II.

The state government said the gesture is in recognition of the patriotism, dedication and selfless service of corps members working in sectors such as education, healthcare, agriculture and other key areas of the state’s economy.

Governor Lawal has also directed the Office of the Accountant General to make the necessary arrangements for the immediate implementation of the approval.
