Kylian Mbappe is set to make his highly anticipated debut for Real Madrid in the UEFA Super Cup against Atalanta on Wednesday, with coach Carlo Ancelotti naming him in the starting lineup.

The 25-year-old French star joined Los Blancos this summer after his contract with Paris Saint-Germain ended, marking the conclusion of a lengthy pursuit by the Spanish giants.

Mbappe will start in Madrid’s first competitive match of the season alongside Vinicius Junior and Rodrygo Goes in attack, with Jude Bellingham providing support.

Although Madrid announced Mbappe’s signing in June, he did not participate in the club’s pre-season tour of the United States.

Mbappe recently helped France reach the Euro 2024 semi-finals, though he had a challenging tournament after suffering a broken nose in the opening game and scoring only once from the penalty spot in Germany.

He was officially introduced to over 80,000 fans at the Santiago Bernabeu on July 16 and was subsequently given time off before returning to training a week ago.

Ahead of the UEFA Super Cup match, Ancelotti remarked, “Mbappe is ready to start, just like everyone else here. He is adapting very well, is highly focused, and is displaying exceptional quality.”
