Atiku Says Hunger Has Become One of the Features of Tinubu’s Government

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has criticised the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, alleging that hunger and economic hardship have become defining features of the government.

Atiku made the remarks while reacting to reports that millions of Nigerians could face acute food insecurity in 2026, describing the situation as a humanitarian crisis that requires urgent government intervention.

He argued that rising food prices, inflation, insecurity in farming communities and declining purchasing power have worsened living conditions for many Nigerians.

The former vice president also blamed the situation on what he described as policy failures, including the implementation of key economic reforms that have increased the cost of living for ordinary citizens.

Atiku further linked the food crisis to insecurity affecting agricultural production in several parts of the country, stressing that farmers must be able to return safely to their farms to boost food supply.

He called on the Federal Government to take urgent steps to address food insecurity, support agricultural production and implement measures aimed at reducing the hardship faced by Nigerians.
