In a heartfelt address marking this year’s Children’s Day celebration, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu declared children as the “heartbeat of the nation,” unveiling a bold national campaign to protect and empower Nigeria’s youngest citizens.

“Today, I celebrate the heartbeat of our nation—our children,” the President stated. “You are not just our future; you are our now—our leaders, our light, our reason to build a better Nigeria.”

At the heart of the President’s remarks was the official launch of the “See Something. Say Something. Do Something” campaign—an ambitious nationwide movement under the Renewed Hope Agenda aimed at making every Nigerian a child protection champion.

The campaign seeks to tackle rising concerns over child abuse, neglect, bullying, and online safety threats, calling on families, educators, religious leaders, and digital communities to take concrete action in safeguarding children.

“Every child deserves to grow up safe, heard, and free from fear,” said the President. “Bullying, violence, and neglect have no place in our homes, schools, or digital spaces.”

He emphasized that the government is taking decisive steps to strengthen child protection frameworks through legislative reform, expanded access to education and healthcare, and the reinforcement of local support systems.

To the children of Nigeria, the President delivered a personal message of reassurance and hope:

“Your dreams matter. Your voice matters. If you are hurt or bullied, speak up. You will be heard. You will be protected.”

The President concluded with a vision of unity and compassion:

“Let today mark a renewed movement to build a Nigeria where no child suffers in silence, no child is left behind, and every child grows in dignity, peace, and love.”

As Children’s Day festivities echoed across the nation, so too did a renewed national promise—one where the laughter of children symbolizes not only joy but also a brighter and more inclusive Nigeria.
