In line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda for agricultural transformation and national food security, the National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF) has launched a Digital Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Platform to oversee its flagship ₦19.5 billion AgGrow Farm Support Programme.

The digital platform, unveiled in Abuja, is designed to ensure transparency, accountability, and efficiency in the disbursement of farm input subsidies to 50,000 smallholder farmers across Nigeria’s six geopolitical zones. The system features geo tagging, biometric verification, weekly reporting, third party audit trails, and compliance dashboards to track the entire value chain from input distribution to harvest.

Under the AgGrow model, NADF pays 100 percent of the input cost upfront, while licensed processors are expected to repay 50 percent of the value post harvest. The initiative also supports capacity building for extension workers, real time advisory services, and includes crop insurance to mitigate climate risks. Importantly, it ensures inclusivity with a mandatory allocation of 40 percent participation for women and 20 percent for youth.

By deploying this digital M&E framework, President Tinubu’s administration is not only boosting farmer productivity but also building a more accountable and resilient agricultural sector that aligns with the administration’s goals of food sufficiency, rural empowerment, and economic diversification.
