In line with President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda to boost digital innovation and youth empowerment, the National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has launched a Southeast Tech Startup Contest ahead of the prestigious GITEX Nigeria 2025 event.

The initiative is designed to identify and support high-potential technology startups across the Southeast region by providing them with a platform to showcase their innovations, access mentorship, and attract investment opportunities. The winners of the regional contest will represent the Southeast at GITEX Nigeria 2025, where they will compete on a national stage with startups from other geopolitical zones.

Speaking during the launch, NITDA officials emphasized that the program aligns with President Tinubu’s vision of transforming Nigeria into a leading digital economy by nurturing homegrown tech talent and creating an enabling environment for innovation to thrive. The contest is expected to spark healthy competition and drive entrepreneurial growth in the region.
