Talent manager Ubi Franklin has refuted online rumors alleging he stole a watch from celebrity jeweler Benny the Jeweler during Davido’s wedding in Miami. Addressing the claims on X, Ubi described them as “completely false and misleading,” explaining that while Benny initially offered him a watch he declined due to concerns over its history, he later purchased a different watch during the wedding.

Ubi clarified that he briefly had both watches in his possession due to the chaos of the event and only realized he still held the declined one when Benny contacted him mid-flight. He returned the watch and stressed, “I am not a thief. I have never stolen from anyone in my life.” Benny himself reportedly dismissed the theft allegations earlier in the day.

Davido publicly backed Ubi, saying he “owes no one any explanation.” Ubi has also claimed he knows the individual responsible for spreading the false rumor.
