The Flat Fire in central Oregon has destroyed four homes and several structures, forcing nearly 4,000 households under evacuation orders. About 1,000 homes are under immediate “Go Now” directives.

The fire has burned 22,000 acres and remains 0% contained as crews battle extreme heat, dry conditions, and rugged terrain. More than 800 firefighters are on the scene, supported by air tankers and helicopters.

In Northern California, the Pickett Fire in Napa County has charred 6,800 acres, threatening 500 structures. At least 150 residents have been ordered to evacuate. Containment is at 11–13%.

Both fires are fueled by a regional heat wave that has left vegetation dangerously dry, raising wildfire risks across the West.
