President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved ₦1.85 billion to support the education, rehabilitation, and welfare of the rescued Chibok schoolgirls. The intervention, which will run through 2027, covers tuition, accommodation, vocational training, healthcare, and other essential needs.
The initiative forms part of the Chibok Girls Intervention Programme and will be closely monitored over the next three years to ensure accountability and measurable progress. According to the Ministry of Education, the package is designed to provide long-term stability and opportunities for the girls to thrive.
Education Minister Tunji Alausa described the intervention as both financial and moral, stressing that it reflects the government’s determination to transform a painful national memory into a story of resilience, dignity, and hope.
