
The Minister of Environment, Balarabe Abbas Lawal, has met with State Environment Commissioners to deepen collaboration on national climate action. The meeting focused on harmonizing federal and state strategies to tackle environmental challenges and advance Nigeria’s green agenda.
Key discussions included Nigeria’s preparations for COP26, the enforcement of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs), and the implementation of the National Clean Cooking Policy, which seeks to reduce deforestation and improve household energy solutions.
The session also highlighted the Circular Economy Roadmap, aimed at promoting recycling, resource efficiency, and green jobs. According to the minister, these measures will position Nigeria as a united front in addressing climate change while building a sustainable future for citizens.
