Former U.S. President Donald Trump has announced that late conservative activist and Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk will be awarded the Presidential Medal of Freedom posthumously.
Kirk, who was fatally shot during an event at Utah Valley University on Wednesday, was a close ally of Trump and a prominent voice in conservative politics. He dedicated much of his career to mobilizing young voters and championing right-wing causes.
Trump described Kirk as “a patriot who gave his all for America,” adding that the honor is in recognition of his service, loyalty, and impact on the conservative movement.
