
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has congratulated two distinguished Nigerians, Farouk Gumel and Tobi Amusan, for their recent outstanding accomplishments on the international stage.
Gumel was appointed Chairman of Botswana Sovereign Wealth Fund Limited, a recognition of his expertise and global standing. President Tinubu described the appointment as a testament to Gumel’s dedication and the respect Nigerian professionals command internationally. He noted that Gumel, who also serves as Vice Chairman for Africa at the Tropical General Investment Group, has played a consistent role in advancing Nigeria’s food sufficiency goals.
On the sporting front, the President celebrated Tobi Amusan’s silver medal win in the women’s 100m hurdles at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo. He praised her resilience, determination, and patriotic spirit, describing her achievement as a source of national pride and inspiration for young Nigerians.
