Minister of the federal capital territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike has debunked rumors circulating online that he collapsed last week in Abuja and was rushed to France for medical treatment.

Recall, that there were rumours on Friday that the FCT minister collapsed after a meeting in Abuja due to excessive drinking and was diagnosed with partial stroke.

Wike attributed the rumors to politics, stating that his opponents are trying to divert attention from the former Head of Service’s revelation about plans to bomb the House of Assembly complex and attack national assets.

Wike who made this known after he inspected the international conference center and four other ongoing projects yesterday in Abuja, said he would rather live in good health and be alive to write condolence messages to those who wish him dead.

Wike assured Nigerians that he is in good health and has been actively fulfilling his responsibilities as FCT Minister.

He mentioned that he attended President Tinubu’s iftar birthday celebration and led Abuja residents to pay Sallah homage the next day.

He said he would rather live in good health and and be alive to write condolence messages to those who wish him dead.

“First of all, I am a human being, it is not a ghost that will collapse. It is human beings that will collapse if there is any problem with their health. Unfortunately, I did not collapse and I did not show any sign that I have any health problem. Let me tell you what happened. What happened was that you saw that the former Head of Service (in Rivers state) came out to let the public know what was going on, how they planned to bomb the House of Assembly complex and how they planned to attack national assets. In order to divert attention from people not focusing on that, they had to bring one rumor that they have been flown overseas.

The rumours come amid heightened public interest in the health of high-profile public office holders in Nigeria, particularly when they make foreign trips or are out of sight for periods.
