The National Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA) has announced plans to roll out Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) and a National Data Exchange (NDX) platform beginning in early 2026. The initiative is part of government efforts to drive digital transformation, improve service delivery, and strengthen the nation’s data governance framework.

According to NITDA, the DPI will provide a secure foundation for digital identity, payments, and data exchange, enabling citizens, businesses, and government institutions to connect more efficiently. The National Data Exchange will serve as a central hub for seamless, real-time data sharing across ministries, departments, and agencies, while ensuring compliance with privacy and security standards.

The project is expected to boost Nigeria’s digital economy, enhance transparency, and support innovation in both the public and private sectors. NITDA noted that collaboration with stakeholders, including technology partners and regulatory agencies, will be key to the successful deployment of the platforms in 2026.
