PDP NWC Counters Suspensions of National Chairman, Secretary, Legal Adviser and Others

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) is facing internal turmoil as its National Working Committee (NWC) has suspended several key officers for alleged anti-party activities. The decision followed an emergency NWC meeting held in response to a recent court ruling that halted the party’s planned national convention.

During the meeting, the NWC announced the one-month suspension of the National Secretary, National Organizing Secretary, and National Legal Adviser over alleged misconduct.

However, in a dramatic turn of events, the suspended National Secretary, Senator Samuel Anyanwu, convened a separate NWC meeting where he announced the suspension of the PDP National Chairman, Ambassador Umar Damagum, along with five other national officers. The development has deepened the leadership crisis within the opposition party.
