
Osun State University (UNIOSUN) has confirmed the receipt of a significant ₦218,954,500 from the Nigerian Educational Loan Fund (NELFUND) as part of the first batch of student loan disbursements. The funds, aimed at supporting students of the institution, were received on September 9, 2024.
In an official statement signed by the institution’s Registrar, Mrs. Atinuke A. Oguntunde, UNIOSUN acknowledged the allocation, which will benefit 717 students. The disbursement is a major step in addressing the financial challenges of students seeking to continue their education.
The university expressed its gratitude towards NELFUND for facilitating this initiative and remains committed to ensuring the funds are properly utilized to ease the burden on students.
This development follows the implementation of the Nigerian government’s student loan program, designed to assist university students in need of financial support to pursue their academic dreams.
