The Federal Government is set to launch a National Housing Data Centre aimed at providing accurate and comprehensive insights into Nigeria’s housing deficit and market opportunities.
The initiative, announced by Minister of Housing Ahmed Musa Dangiwa, seeks to strengthen planning, investment, and policy formulation in the housing sector. The data centre will serve as a central repository for housing statistics, enabling stakeholders including government agencies, private developers, investors, and researchers to access reliable information on housing demand, supply, and trends across the country.
Minister Dangiwa explained that the centre will help bridge the information gap in the real estate sector, guide policy decisions, attract investment, and facilitate targeted interventions to address Nigeria’s housing challenges.
According to the ministry, the National Housing Data Centre will employ modern data collection, analytics, and visualization tools to ensure timely, accurate, and actionable information for both public and private sector actors.
The project is part of the government’s broader strategy to enhance housing delivery, reduce the housing deficit, and support sustainable urban development across Nigeria.
