During the engagement, Dr. Maruf Tunji Alausa, Nigeria’s Minister of Education (Basic and Secondary), met with Qatar’s Minister of Education, H.E. Lolwah bint Rashid Al Khater, to review Nigeria’s national plan for Mallam training, Tsangaya school upgrades, and strengthening bilingual schools across 11 states. The Minister also engaged the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD) and Education Above All (EAA) on strategic partnerships to reduce educational exclusion, enhance child protection, and expand access to inclusive learning for vulnerable children.

Nigeria and Qatar are set to finalize a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to operationalize support for Almajiri and out-of-school education, reinforcing the Federal Government’s commitment to reintegration, quality learning, and national development.
