
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has formally presented letters of credence to five newly appointed Nigerian envoys as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen the country’s diplomatic presence across key regions.
The new appointments include Amb. Olawale Emmanuel Awe, who has been named Nigeria’s Permanent Representative to ECOWAS. Others are Amb. Mairo Musa Abbas, appointed Consul General in Guangzhou, China; Amb. N.O. Okey-Uche, Nigeria’s new Consul General to South Africa; Amb. Ojo Olobode Steve, Consul General to Cameroon; and Amb. Samalia Goni, who will serve as Chargé d’Affaires in Tripoli, Libya.
Minister Tuggar urged the envoys to uphold professionalism and remain committed to advancing Nigeria’s interests, strengthening bilateral relations, and promoting the nation’s foreign policy objectives.
