In observance of World Environmental Day, Tonia Uduimoh, Programs Manager at Oando Foundation, emphasized the importance of empowering future generations to achieve Net Zero. She highlighted that as efforts continue towards a healthier planet, educating children on sustainable practices is essential for driving meaningful change.

Uduimoh pointed out that climate change and the increasing risk of environmental disasters pose significant threats to sustainable development and global health. These challenges could jeopardize years of progress in poverty reduction and overall development.

“To foster a sustainable future, we must prioritize education that equips our children with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to promote environmental stewardship,” Uduimoh stated.

As part of the day’s message, she encouraged individuals and communities to adopt the principles of reusing, reducing, and recycling waste. “Together, we can build resilient communities and protect our planet for generations to come,” she urged, calling for collective action in the fight against climate change.
