The Authority Chief Executive of the Nigerian Midstream and Downstream Petroleum Regulatory Authority (NMDPRA), Engr. Farouk Ahmed, has been honoured with the NEAPS 2025 Excellence in Energy Regulation and Sectoral Stability Award. The award was presented at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, on Sunday, 7th December 2025.

The prestigious recognition celebrates his outstanding leadership and strategic contributions to strengthening Nigeria’s energy regulation framework and promoting stability within the midstream and downstream petroleum sector. Under his leadership, the Authority has advanced key reforms aimed at transparency, efficiency, and sustainable industry growth.

Officials noted that the award reflects Engr. Ahmed’s commitment to institutional excellence and regulatory innovation, which continue to support investor confidence and long-term development in Nigeria’s petroleum industry.
