Abuja, December 8, 2025 – President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed relief and satisfaction over the safe return of 100 students from Papiri Catholic School in Niger State, praising the relentless efforts of security agencies.
While celebrating the reunion of the students with their families, President Tinubu urged security forces to continue their operations to secure the release of the remaining 115 students and teachers still held captive.
The President reassured parents that the federal government, working closely with Niger State authorities, is committed to ensuring that all abducted students are safely reunited with their families.
“I commend the dedication of our security personnel and share in the joy of Governor Umar Bago and the families of the students. My directive remains that all abducted children and Nigerians must be brought home safely,” President Tinubu said.
He further stressed the need for preventive measures to protect schools nationwide, emphasizing that children must no longer be easy targets for kidnappers seeking to disrupt their education and traumatize families.
President Tinubu also called for stronger coordination between federal and state governments to secure learning environments and safeguard students across the country.
