Akwa Ibom First Lady, Patience Umo Eno, Passes Away

The First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, has passed away following an illness. The sad news was confirmed by the state’s Commissioner for Information, Ini Ememobong, in a statement issued early Friday morning.

According to the statement, Mrs. Eno died peacefully in the presence of her family at a hospital on Thursday, September 26, 2024.

“It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of the Wife of the Executive Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Her Excellency, Pastor Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, following an illness. She passed away peacefully at the hospital, on 26th September, 2024, in the presence of her family,” the statement read.

The Commissioner expressed gratitude on behalf of Governor Umo Eno to all those who have supported the family during this trying time. He noted that further details regarding the First Lady’s passing and arrangements will be provided in due course, but called for privacy as the family mourns the loss of their wife, mother, and grandmother.

“The family submits to the will of the Almighty and asks for the prayers and support of kind-hearted individuals during this difficult time,” the statement continued.

Despite the profound personal loss, Governor Umo Eno has reaffirmed his dedication to the service of the state. The Commissioner conveyed the Governor’s appreciation to the people of Akwa Ibom for standing by the family and assured them that the Governor’s commitment to his responsibilities remains steadfast.

Mrs. Patience Umo Eno, who was known for her quiet strength and dedication to both her family and the state, leaves behind a legacy of service, compassion, and leadership.
