Russia shot down 125 Ukrainian drones overnight, according to the defense ministry, with regional governors reporting some damage but no casualties.
“125 Ukrainian fixed-wing UAVs were intercepted and destroyed by air defense systems,” the ministry stated on Telegram.
Sixty-seven drones were taken down over the Volgograd region in southern Russia, where Governor Andrey Bocharov noted that debris from the drones caused grass fires but resulted in no injuries or significant damage.
Seventeen drones were downed in both the Belgorod and Voronezh regions, where Governor Aleksandr Gusev reported that several fell in Voronezh city and its suburbs, igniting fires in two residential buildings, but again, no casualties were reported.
Additionally, 18 drones were intercepted over the Rostov region, with Governor Vasily Golubev confirming on Telegram that there were no casualties or damage.
Single drones were also shot down over the Bryansk and Kursk regions, as well as Krasnodar, which borders Crimea, and three were intercepted over the Sea of Azov.
Russia has recently reported daily interceptions of Ukrainian drones in response to what Kyiv describes as retaliatory strikes following Russian attacks since the offensive began in February 2022.
